Ford F-150 Overview
There are few trucks as well known as the Ford F-150. This truck offers the heavy-duty capability to drive confidently in various conditions, whether snow, mud, gravel or while hauling heavy loads. The interior offers options for every driver, ranging from basic work truck ready to luxurious with finishes such as heated leather seats and an intuitive infotainment system. Topping the charts year after year, the F-150 returns for 2024, and we expect some exciting updates.
Updates to Infotainment
The 2024 Ford F-150 is expected to offer new infotainment system updates with what we believe to be a vast vertical screen. This spacious screen will make it easier to select which apps you’re using and make viewing easier. An updated technology interface is also expected to offer drivers more features and easier access. With up to a 15.5-inch screen, you can access your phone, navigation, playlists, and settings thanks to Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Higher-end trim levels will get a large 12-inch digital cluster display.
While we don’t have official pictures yet, with the new 2024 F-150, we’re expecting some changes to the exterior design for a bolder, more attention-demanding appearance. This includes changes to the taillights, a new set of 22-inch wheels, and a potential multifunction tailgate seen among competitors. The new tailgate will allow for up to three different configurations to make it easier to load and unload your tools, toys, and whatever else you may be hauling in the bed. A new grille with slight modifications to the design has also been spotted, along with a revised lower bumper.
2024 Ford F-150 Tremor
The F-150 Tremor is popular among drivers who want to adventure more and worry less. The 2024 model boasts some upgrades to the suspension system, along with optional trail technology. These off-road-focused technologies give you features the lower trim levels won’t have but allow you to travel to more places without upgrading to the Raptor trim level. The Tremor will also include a new grille design and lighting system.
2024 Ford F-150 Rattler
Another exclusive F-150 for the 2024 model year is the Rattler. This is an available package you can add, and after debuting in 2023, we’re excited to see what features it will come with for 2024. We expect most of the same features to carry over, including all-terrain tires, 18-inch dark-painted aluminum wheels, and dual exhaust with black tips. We also expect privacy glass, fog lamps, a Rattler decal, and a black interior with bronze-color stitching and accents.
Performance features are also expected, including monotube rear shocks, skid plates to protect the fuel tank, off-road-tuned shock absorbers, and a front differential. You’ll still be able to choose which engine you want based on your specific needs, but you’ll also get hill-descent control and a rock crawl mode included.
Ford F-150 Engine Options
You’ll find the F-150 with several engine options, expected to carry over to the 2024 model year. Each engine is paired with a smooth-shifting 10-speed automatic transmission, and you can choose from a rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive, depending on your driving needs. Engine options include a 3.3L naturally aspirated V-6 engine that delivers 290 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque.
You can also opt for a 2.7L twin-turbo V-6 engine that delivers 325 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. Next is a 5.0L naturally aspirated V-8 engine that produces a whopping 400 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. There’s also a 3.5L twin-turbo V-6 with 400 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque. The Raptor offers another 3.5L V-6 twin-turbo engine with 50 additional horsepower. The most powerful engine is a 5.2L supercharged V-8 with 700 horsepower. Finally, a V-6 hybrid engine is also available.
Ford Co-Pilot360 Technology
To help guide you and keep you safer while on the road, the Ford F-150 will come equipped with Ford Co-Pilot360 technology. This includes several different driver assistance and active safety features that activate and take over when the sensors detect a potential threat. Another option included in the new 2024 F-150 is BlueCruise. This system uses premapped road data and sensors to allow hand- and foot-free driving in certain road conditions.
When BlueCruise is activated, the system allows the F-150 to accelerate, brake, and steer by itself while you relax and watch the road. Sensors will be embedded in the dash to ensure that your focus stays on the road ahead; if the sensors detect a distraction, the system with deactivate.
Fewer Parts To Help You Save Money
With electric vehicles taking over the roads, the 2024 Ford F-150 will excel. As it excludes several parts, you’ll b able to cut costs when shopping for your next vehicle. This is part of Ford’s effort to decrease complexity, making the car easier to afford initially, as less engineering is required, as well as easier to maintain and test.
